About Aaron Shipman House
Treat yourself to the grace and comfort of a Historic Victorian Washington DC Rowhouse. The Aaron Shipman House Bed and Breakfast has been welcoming guests since 1984, after the last of our children left for college.
Our home is conveniently located at 13th and Q. Street’s NW, 1 block north of Logan Circle.
Our guests include families, business travelers, couples looking for a romantic retreat, members of congress, foreign dignitaries, and even a movie star or 2.

We operate our Bed and Breakfast in the traditional European style; you are our personal guests in our private home. All guests are treated to a hot cooked breakfast, served family style each morning at the dining room table. Visitors can choose from 6 guest rooms, each with private bath or a fully furnished, private entranced 1 bedroom apartment. Complimentary wireless Internet is available throughout the home.
All rooms include television, alarm clock radio and telephone extension with free local and toll free calls. We welcome children of all ages. A portable “Pack and Play” is available for infants. For visitors traveling by car, we have limited off street parking by reservation.

Location and Neighborhood
The Aaron Shipman House is located in Historic Logan Circle at 13th and Q. Streets. We are north of the White House by 10 Blocks and East of Dupont Circle by 6 blocks. Washington’s new Convention Center is a 15-minute walk to the North entrance. The Metro (Washington’s Subway) is north of the house by 4 blocks, an 8-10 minute walk at the U. Street/Cardozo station of the Green/Yellow lines. Travel to the Convention Center on the Metro is 2 stops. The National Mall is 4 stops, exiting at the Archives/Navy Memorial Station. This station is 1 or 2 blocks from the American History and Natural History buildings of the Smithsonian, the National Gallery of Art.
In addition to excellent Metro access, we are also 1 block from the 50 series bus lines that travel south on 14th street, with stops within 2 blocks of the Holocaust Museum, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Air and Space Museum, Jefferson Memorial, WWII, Vietnam and Korean War Memorials, Washington Monument, U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress and Supreme Court.

Rooms at Aaron Shipman House
We offer visitors a choice of 6 individually decorated guest rooms, all with private bath or a fully furnished 1-bedroom apartment. We welcome children of all ages, and can provide a portable “Pack & Play” for infants.
Most rooms are set up for 2 persons. One room includes a day bed for up to 3 guests or 2 guests with separate beds. The apartment can accommodate up to 4 and seems to especially attract families, as it has full access to a kitchen. All rooms include complimentary Wireless Internet and telephone extension with free local calls. Each room includes color TV, but only a select few offer cable or satellite reception.
We have limited off street parking available by reservation for a small fee. Parking is a premium in the city, so please be sure to reserve a space if you need it with your room reservation. Second Floor Queen
This guest room is located on the second floor of the house. The room is furnished with a queen-sized bed featuring a Select Comfort mattress, 2 armchairs, decorative fireplace and private hall bath. The hall bath includes a single person Jacuzzi tub and shower. Parties of more than 2 can add a very small room with a double sized bed to this room for a small additional fee. The 2 rooms would then share the hall bath.

Third Floor Queen Bedrooms
There are 5 guest rooms on the third floor of the home. 3 of these guest rooms are furnished with queen-sized beds featuring Select Comfort mattresses.
Additionally, one of these rooms has a twin-sized day bed, allowing for a 3rd guest or 2 guests with separate beds. For larger families, up to 5, two of the rooms can be joined to create a mini suite with 2 queen beds, twin day bed and 2 bathrooms.

The Jacuzzi Room
Located on the third floor, this guest room includes an Antique, carved queen-sized bed, decorative fireplace and private bath with 2 persons Jacuzzi tub and shower. This room also includes 2 comfortable armchairs and TV with Satellite reception.

Third Floor Double
This very small room is best suited for a single traveler, or those on a budget. The room is furnished with just a double sized bed and night-stand. A private bath, the next door in the hall is provided with the room. The bath is shower only.

The Apartment
Perfect for guests on a longer stay, looking for more privacy or families, we also offer a fully furnished 1-bedroom apartment. There is a queen-sized bed in the bedroom, a full bath, walk in closet with laundry facilities, and large living room with queen sleeper sofa. The galley style kitchen is fully equipped with a full sized stove and oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, full sized refrigerator and garbage disposal. The front bay window includes a dining table for 4.

Rates
Room rates at the Aaron Shipman House vary by season and number of travelers. Rates may also be changed or adjusted based on events here in Washington. We believe our rates are usually less than a comparable hotel.
Each room at our home is different, and may have unique amenities, such as a Jacuzzi tub, decorative fireplace, accommodations for an extra guest, or our furnished apartment.
